Euro Watch-Russians prevail

This morning the Dutch mercenary Guus Hiddink saw his Russian side beat the in form Holland 3-1 after extra time. The Dutch played quite poorly and paid for their poorness.Russian Andrei Arshavin had a fantastic game and scored a goal as well.

Tonight its the last match of the quarter finals as Spain play the world cup winners Italy.Italy were lucky to even qualify for the quarter finals so lets see if lucks on their side again tonight...

Euro Watch-German and Turkish delight

Hey everyone, sorry for the late update...had a 5 a side game yesterday and spent today looking for good food around KL.Anyways 2 teams have reached the next stage of the competition.Germany showed their class and finished of Portugal 3-2 and Bastian Schweinsteiger scored a wonder goal as well.Turkey and Croatia played a dull and boring game up til the last 2 minutes of extra time.Croatia scored first then Turkey came right back on the 121 st minute taking the game to penalties which Turkey won after Croatia missed 3 shots. The Turkish goalie Rüştü Reçber was absolutely amazing last night.

Tonight the two Dutch coaches take on each other as Holland play Russia which is sure to be a cracker of a game....

Some Arsenal news for you, according to 2 rubbish newspaper in Spain called Marca and El Mundo Adebayor has put in a transfer request and wants to leave Arsenal. It also stated that he is about to join Barcalona and Arsenal have started looking for a replacement with Roque Santa Cruz in mind.Hmm well i think this sounds like absolute shite cause even if we did eventually lose Adebayor we could do better than Roque Santa Cruz.I mean what the fuck?Roque Santa Cruz....come on he's a decent player but there are loads of other better players around.Lets bring in Huntelaar or Podolski or even David Villa instead. Is it just me or is Arsenal falling apart...Are we becoming push overs? Here's a list of this seasons raid casualties:-

Flamini-Left for AC Milan
Hleb-Wanted by Barcelona and AC Milan
Adebayor-Wanted by Barcelona ,AC Milan and Inter Milan
Van Persie-Wanted by Inter Milan
Clichy-Wanted by AS Roma and Juventus

This is a sad state of affairs....

Euro Watch and Aaron Ramsey

Got kinda bored of the format i was using to talk about the Euro games previously. So ive decided to take it more casually and kick it.So far Portugal and Turkey from Group A and Croatia and Germany from Group B have qualified for the next round.Turkey showed determination to come back from 2-0 to will 2-3 against the Czech Republic and Germany relied on a super freekick from Micheal Ballack to beat Austria 1-0 and qualify.Tonight the members of the Group of Death kick off with Holland vs Romania and Italy vs France.Holland have already qualified and appear to be favorites to win the competition.

Some Arsenal news for today as well.Afew days ago Arsenal made their first signing of the season, the 17 year old Welsh wonderkid Aaron Ramsey.Ramsey who was being chased by Everton,Man united and Arsenal was said to be joining Man United when all of a sudden he decided to join the Gunners instead.Well good on ya soon!Welcome to the club...

Stipe Pletikosa-The Croatian goal keeper made some wonderful saves yesterday to help his contry to the second round.

Austria(1) Vs Poland(1)
The game that ended a stalemate but could have been all entirely different if Austria didnt miss the amount of chances they had on goal.
Key Players
Ivica Vastic-Came on as a sub in the game and scored a penalty
Artur Boruc-The Polish goal keeper who made some wonder saves and undoubtedly earned himself the man of the match last night.
Roger Guerreiro-Brazilian born Polish striker who showed how samba is like in Poland.Definitely a player to watch out for in the future.

Day 3,4,5 Round up

Day 3
Romania(0) Vs France(0)
A dull and boring game where France played absolutely terrible.Credit to Romania who played some excellent holding football
Key Players
Franck Ribery-Played some great passes and made some awesome forward runs that caused Romania alot of trouble.
Team Romania-The dark horses of the group kept frustrating France all the way and it will be interesting to see them in their next few games.

Netherlands(3) Vs Italy(0)
Hands down the best game of the tournament so far with Holland playing some wonderful short pass counter attacking football. An old and tired Italian side could not cope with youthfulness and hunger of the Dutch.
Key Players
Wesley Sneijder-Scored a wonder goal and played some magnificent football all around.
Alessandro Del Piero-Came on late and had some good chances.Should get a start in the next game hopefully.

Day 4
Spain(4) Vs Russia(1)
Spain totally dominated the game and demolished Russia. The Russians do deserve credit for their passion and determination to fight. We will definitely see Spain in the latter stages of the competition.
Key Players
David Villa-Hat-trick Hero Villa showed his first class finishing and will be a big contender for the Golden Boot.
Roman Pavlyuchenko-Russia's goal scorer was a livewire the entire match and got his reward with a great goal in the 86th minute..

Sweden(2) Vs Greece(0)
The holders Greece were soundly beaten by an old and experienced Sweden side.Greece played some horrible football and its time they change their tactics that mainly consists of passing the ball around in defense for atleast 3-5 minutes before shooting off a high ball to a striker which always seems to miss the pass.
Key Players
Henrik Larsson-The iconic Swede was recalled to the squad for the tournament and was an integral part of the team.
Fredrik Ljungberg-Former Arsenal winger and my favorite player had a great match proving that he still has the pace creativity to do wonders
Zlatan Ibrahimovic-Scored a wonderful goal and had some good attempts throughout the game.Oh yes and his goal was his first in 3 years....suprising!!!

Day 5
Portugal(3) Vs Czech Republic(1)
Portugal qualified for the second round after finishing off Czech Republic.
Key Players
Cristiano Ronaldo-Scored a goal and then set up two more.Had a great match yesterday and will have many more to come in the next round.

Switzerland(1) Vs Turkey(2)
Hosts Switzerland are out of the tournament after their side lost to Turkey who got a late winner from Arda Turan.

Tonight Croatia take on Germany and hosts Austria play Poland.

Czech Republic
Portugal
Turkey

Group B
Austria
Croatia
Germany

Day 1
Switzerland(0) Vs Czech Republic(1)
The Czechs came out as winners in this game but credits due to the Swiss who played admirably and lost their enthusiastic and influential captain Alexander Frei to an injury early in the game.He will be out for the rest of the tournament.
Key Players
Phillipe Senderos-The Arsenal defender managed to handle the tall Jan Koller well rendering him useless till he got substituted.
Tranquillo Barnetta-The attacking midfielder caused lots of problems for the Czechs.
Václav Svěrkoš-Scored the only goal of the game and appears to be a hot player for the Czechs right now.

Portugal(2) Vs Turkey(0)
Portugal were favorites in this game and they showed some excellent class finishing off a temperamental and lackluster Turkish side.
Key Players
Pepe-Excellent first goal and is one to watch in this young Portugal side
Cristiano Ronaldo-As always performed well and played some excellent passes even though his mind is probably on Real Madrid.
Sanli Tuncay-The Turkish striker played well but could have done better.Should be interesting when he faces a weaker opponent.

Day 2
Austria(0) Vs Croatia(1)
Croatia got an early penalty and cruised the first half. The second half was all Austria who showed their guts and were unlucky to come out empty handed.
Key Players
Luka Modrić-A 4 minute penalty that one the game and some superb individual play makes this attacking midfielder a must to keep an eye on.
Ivica Olić-Was hands down man of the match providing Croatia will all the right attacking balls.
Team Austria-The entire team showed their determination to do well despite being one of the Underdogs of the tournament. With this kind of attitude they will prove to be tough opponents in group B.

Germany(2) Vs Poland(0)
Germany coolly finished off debutants Poland to shoot to the top of Group B.
Key Players
Lukas Podolski-The Polish born Germany striker emotionally finished off Poland with two great goals.
Artur Boruc-The Poland and Celtic goalkeeper even though he let 2 in,made some great saves and will likely be the player who will save Poland in the upcoming matches.

9

I recently came across this really cool animated short called 9.Cant really explain what its about but its worth a watch. Its a 3D animated short film which is made to look like its done with stop motion styled animation with simple characters that resemble rag dolls. Its about 10 minutes long and was nominated for loads of Short film awards like the Animex award as well as the Florida Film Festival. This short film was so captivating and interesting that a full movie will be made and released sometime this year starring Elijah Wood(Lord of the Rings),Jennifer Connelly(Blood Diamond) and Crispin Glover(Charlie's Angels).I cant wait for this one to come out.

Arsenal Latest News Round Up

Well seems like this blog is going more towards Arsenal and football than other stuff.Oh well anything that keeps the blog moving is fine with me.Todays round up is basically afew stories i found around the internet about Arsenal and their latest situation.

Walcott grateful that he didn't join Chelsea
Theo Walcott has come out and stated that he is happy at Arsenal and really grateful to his previous club Southhampton for letting him join Arsenal instead of accepting an offer from Chelsea as a ball boy back when he was a kid at Liverpool youth.Imagine Theo still running around Stamford Bridge catching balls:)

Wenger - Nasri signing likely
Arsene Wenger wants to sign Samir Nasri before Euro 08 which will start on the 7th of June.Samir Nasri is probably coming in to replace Alexander Hleb who's money grubbing agent wants him to move to a so called richer and bigger club.Samir Nasri is currently playing for Marseille as an attacking midfielder and has been called a youthful Zinedine Zidane.Interesting stuff, would definatly love to see him in an Arsenal kit soon.

Milan plot major striker move
These Italian bastards are at it again. They already took Flamini now they are chasing after Emmanuel Adebayor! They want to strengthen their pitiful excuse for a football club and are unsettling strikers from various clubs to see which agent crumbles first so they can strike a quick deal.Adebayor has stated that he loves things at Arsenal but you never can tell sometimes.Barcelona who have had a rubbish season are also targeting Adebayor.

Carlos Vela gets his Arsenal Career started
The 19 year old Mexican wonderkid who has been on loan at Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna has finally picked up his permit to start playing for Arsenal. The kid will be playing as a striker or a winger next season and Arsene Wenger stated that he's a player in the Eduardo mould.Looking forward to see him in action next season.

Well thats it for this post so see ya'll soon and keep it tuned:)

Speed Racer,A touch of nostalgia

Watched Speed Racer on the weekend and was it a class film.Keeping to its original 1960's Japanese anime style, the Wachowski brothers who brought us the Matrix trilogy created a fun and colourful world for Speed Racer.Almost the entire movie was filmed in front of a green screen giving us a wide range of CG effects and futuristic landscape's.Every single car in the movie is computer generated and the famous Mach 5 lives up to its animated counter part.

The storyline of the movie is absolutely amazing revolving around high octane racing with the politics and business dealings that go along with it.The cast included Emile Hirsh as Speed,Cristina Ricci,John Goodman,Susan Sarandon and many other famous actors.Every single actor managed to pull off their parts well and im keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel for sure.

Silly Season of a footy season

EPL football season just ended last weekend with Man utd lifting the trophy. While Chelsea came second followed by a mixed emotion Arsenal and Liverpool in 4th place.Arsenal were leading the pack for a long stretch of the season but unfortunately they slipped up in afew matches and handed the title to Man Utd.The demise of Arsenal this season can largely be placed upon the shoulders of the players and their bad luck.Players like Emmanuel Adebayor who played really well this season sometimes just fizzled out on certain occasions just left our attack dry.Our defense was not much to brag about either with the new captain Gallas who ran off crying in one match. The only defenders that performed were Gael Clichy who made masterful splitting runs all over the place and the new signing Bacary Sagna who stamped his place as an ultimate right back.Emmanuel Eboue often just played as the 11th man in the team doing absolutely nothing most of the time which was frustrating for a fan seeing him run run and run and lose the ball.Often enough i kept hearing myself shout pass the goddamn ball mann!!!

Arsenal had really bad luck with injuries this season. There were times when we had to field a really poor squad against big teams cause of injuries which costs us dearly.Robin Van Persie started the season cracking but got injured and missed the rest of the games. When he came back he was absolutely shite...No composure,no confidence,No enthusiasm to play for the team.
Many of the players were gutted when they witnessed the horror injury our new signing Eduardo Da Silva faced and we lost him for the rest of the season.Who knows if he will ever regain his skills after that injury.

On a good note afew Arsenal players did do well this season.Fabregas as always keeps getting better and better.Flamini the traitor managed to shrug off a hopeless season before and come out all guns blazing this season which got him noticed by AC Milan.Alexander Hleb was a master of trickery this season showing us some wonderful football and we will truly miss him if he decides to leave.Niklas Bendtner did fairly well giving us some crucial goals in crucial matches this season and last but not least Theo Wallcot the wonderkid of the season. He has shown us why Wenger put his faith in such a young kid.He is maturing and will turn out to be one hell of a player for the future.

My thoughts for the next season is we should just try and keep everyone we have at the club and pick some solid players to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.I would love to see Wallcot and players like Vela,Barazite and Merida get some playing time next season. Thanks Mr. Wenger for a fun season of beautiful football:)

Arsenal's Flamini Joins Milan

What a load of bullshit!!!If it wasn't for Arsene Wenger,Mathieu Flamini would just be another obscure and mediocre French player. He was molded into the perfect midfielder at Arsenal and now he just back stabs Wenger and leaves just cause Milan can pay him more?Ungrateful little shit....

Flamini managed to let Fabregas play his true game this season.Basically he stopped everyone else before they could stop Fabregas. The big test is who Wenger will get to replace Flamini.Right now we have in defensive midfield-

Gilberto(Might Leave soon as well)
Dinelson(Abit to young and isnt ready for first team football yet)
Alexandre Song(Good but plays kinda messy and would probably end up being a better center back)
Diaby(Played as a winger mostly this season but was pretty disappointing as a Defensive Midfielder)

The people we currently have are not really first team material and its time Arsenal go out an buy.We lost a great player in Flamini and we need to get another great player to replace him.Someone who can fit into the English game and play Wenger Ball as well. Its too early to speculate on who we'll sign cause Wenger always ends up signing some unknown player which shocks the world. From what ive heard so far Arsenal have afew people on their short list.
Lille midfielder Jean II Makoun is one of them.He looks alright, quite aggressive and has a good defensive mentality.Another report says were interested in this guy....

Lorik Cana, the 24 year old Albanian from
Marseille. From that video all i can say is he looks like one crazy ass psycho. He would be perfect for Arsenal,a regular thug!!Thats exactly what we need...Think about it,with him around imagine away games at Bolton or BlackBurn. He would practically annihilate them giving the rest of the team the freedom to do what they do best....play beautiful football

Chaos at Icon Buffet

Im an avid fan of Icon Buffet which is basically a place where people can trade icons with each other. Its an online community thing with a forum and its main attraction is the fact that every month afew sets of icons are released by the chefs(icon designers and developers of the website). These icons can be used for anything and they are free!!!Every month you get one free set of cool icons and 10 tokens which you use to get other icon sets from people.Ive got about 28 icons so far but there are loads of them with different themes and styles.

Afew days ago a user named elnitido52 used ASCII art to express his love for iconBuffet.ASCII is a form of art where you use alphabets and numbers to make an image. The image read "You Know What...I Love Icon Buffet. The chefs took this the wrong way and told him to stop doing ASCII art cause its messy and annoying. We were all shocked with their response and they took it further by starting an investigation on elnitido52 by claiming that he created fake accounts.Icon Buffet has a strict policy on creating multiple accounts because you can cheat the whole purpose of the game by doing this. Our dear friend elnitido52 has loads of relatives and friends so being a great fan of Icon Buffet he told them to join and in turn he got a referral which gives you points. They closed every account which was under his referral causing great chaos on the forums. Some of the members decided to show their support by using elnitido52's avatar which is a rotating 3d pirate cross bone .

I wrote a post talking about how ASCII was one of the first forms of graphic design and quoted wikipedia on how its done.Being an icon design site they should respect one of the origins of graphic design but they simply deleted my post and threatened to close/deactivate my account!!!This is nothing but Anarchy in its lowest form...

Iron Man #159 on IMDB

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371746/

On its first week,Iron Man has got into the imdb top 200 list. Not many movies get in there and the guys at Marvel must really be proud cause this is the first of theirs that made it on the list.Their rivals/competitors DC comics have Batman Begins which is truly a masterpiece on the list.

I checked out Iron Man yesterday expecting it to be a cheap and flaky action movie filled with state of the art CG and bad acting.Marvel has had a somewhat bad run in the movie business(except for the Spiderman and X-men series) as they release crap like Ghost Rider,Daredevil and the absolutely ridiculous Hulk.
Iron Man wasnt what i expected...Robert Downey Jr. is perfect as Tony Stark, noone else could act as the playboy billionaire. The movie had a great story and flow to it from beginning to end.The cast was picked well and War Monger was an amazing bad guy in the movie. They got this one right for sure:)Best part of all is the addition of the Black Sabbath track "Iron Man" at the end credits but hey this movie has shits loads of old school rock tracks. Also make sure to stay till the end of the credits cause there's a peek of Samuel L Jackson as Nick Furk!!!

So go out there and watch it...its worth it:)

CM 03 04

Yesterday i started playing a not so old football management game called CM 03 04.For those of you that dont know what im talking about, its basically the famous championship manager game which has now become a huge franchise.Originally started by Eidos,CM had the potential to be one of the greatest games ever and the 03 04 version was nearly perfect.Unfortunately after the release of 03 04 the team broke up and they moved their separate ways...One group started working on a game called FM(Football Manager) which had great AI and realism but had a crappy interface, some annoying bugs and glitches that just made me give up on the franchise. The other group was still releasing CM but it lacked the AI and gameplay it used to have before. The realism was totally sucked out of it when they introduced weird player stats like feinting(Something to do with diving/falling to ground easily to get freekicks).True this situation goes on in everyday football but do we really need it in a game?

Nonetheless there are still people who really enjoy the CM and FM series but im way too happy with my CM 03 04 to give a damn. The database might be really out of date but the gameplay, interface and player stats are absolutely fantastic.Anyways time for me to get back to my French League 2 side Caen as they fight to get promoted to the first league :)

Flash 9 and internet browsers

Adobe released flash player 9.0.124.0 which managed to break all my flash javascript interaction code at the office. Thus making the genome companies flash applications useless a day before their big presentation.I got called back in to check it out....Turns out all it needed was the allow script access parameter and some javascript for browser identification.Realized something weird about browsers while doing this and i will start it with a question...Why is internet explorer rubbish?

Seriously,ie 6 and 7 are like big spoilt babies.Errors here there and everywhere. It has problems with active x, javascript and according to my web dev friends it cant handle div alignments well either...There needs to be standardization!I had to test my flash files on every key browser(Firefox,ie6,ie7,opera,safari) just to make sure one or two lines of code worked.End result was that it worked on everything except ie 6 and opera.I was surprised it didn't work on opera cause ive always thought opera was somewhat similar to firefox and mozilla.Safari is a really cool browser, looks great(shiny and black mac looking)and doesn't really take much resources.

Finally Back

Wow its been more that a week since i last posted.Well all i can say is its been a really tiring week....Tiring,frustrating and irritating.Might be quitting my job soon due to some poor ethics from my employer as well as poor working conditions.Basically i finished up my work at the company i was being outsourced to and got moved back to my original company. They tried to get rid of me saying there was no need for a flash developer cause there wasnt any work left for me.I fought them and got an extension...but looks like the boss isnt very happy with me.

Basically he's making me do web template mock ups.But here's the catch...he doesnt like my style and wants me to be more like his other designer.Frankly im getting sick of these guys giving me bad feedback on projects.Im fine with constructive feedback but what am i supposed to do with downright rejection and words like "the design is so bad even i could have done it"and all this coming from some idiot who's not even a designer nor a client...An IT consultant...Just another wanker making easy money!!!

Anyways ive had it with it all...Im out looking for other jobs at the moment and if all else fails im going to be designing t-shirts and selling them on this blog:)Hows that for new age entrepreneurship.Or i could probably do some freelance flash development and design...

On a better note, the company trip was great, boozed out and partied on the beach all weekend.

Weekend getaway

Anyways...will be thinking of some interesting to develop on this blog by next week.Probably a cool flash app that people could show off on websites :)
